The Borough of Doylestown is pleased to announce that the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has officially awarded a contract for the long-overdue resurfacing of East and West State Streets.
The project is 100% state-funded and is part of a region-wide PennDOT initiative to resurface 16 miles of state highways across Bucks County, totaling $8,339,767.
This marks the first time that State Street will be resurfaced since the 1990s, following an organized push from local leadership and the community. The Borough extends its sincere thanks to State Senator Steve Santarsiero, State Representative Tim Brennan, Borough Council, the Mayor, and the residents who helped us by bringing the condition of State Street to PennDOT's attention.
While the project schedule has yet to be finalized, work is expected to take place later this year.
