In early 2022, Doylestown Borough Council kicked off its efforts to update the Comprehensive Plan. Comprehensive Plans are municipal land use plans that help communities make decisions on priorities such as zoning, transportation improvements, and historic resource planning.
The process was led by the Borough's Planning Commission in consultation with the Bucks County Planning Commission. After more than three years of work—including a widely distributed public survey, two general planning public workshops, topic-specific public workshops with industry specialists, over 30 public meetings, and thousands of volunteer hours—the plan was adopted by Borough Council in March of 2025.
