Special Leaf Collection Message from Public Works
Every fall Doylestown Borough Public Works provides two curbside leaf collections in each of the 5 service districts in town. These 10 weeks of collections begin in mid-October and end just before Christmas. This year, due to climate changes and a resulting warm early Fall season, the Borough's trees are very late dropping their leaves. This has created a potential problem for residents in Area 1 who are the first on the schedule. Area 1 is scheduled for their second and final collection beginning this Monday, November 13th. Whereas many trees are still holding their leaves, we will provide a special 3rd collection round in Area 1 the week of December 18th. We will also be monitoring the remaining leaf canopies in the other collection areas when their final collections are scheduled and will make determinations on possible special collections for these areas as well. Look for DMails and check the Borough's Facebook page and website for more information as the fall collection progresses. Please note this is all weather dependent and early snow storms, as we have also had in recent years, can disrupt the schedule and delay collections. Please refer to the map and schedule below for area boundaries and dates.
