Doylestown Borough is seeking applicants for a full-time Permit Clerk/Administrative Clerk at Borough Hall. This is a union position starting at $19.21 per hour with full benefits. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
This is a full time position in the Building and Zoning Department that also provides general support for all Borough functions. The Permit Clerk works in the front office and is the initial point of contact for customers wishing to apply for municipal permits. The Permit Clerk processes applications through to issuance for building permits for residential and commercial work, including coordination with all other departments involved, computing costs, collecting money and issuing receipts; responds to inquiries by furnishing information requested or referring to appropriate department or individual; inputs data to and retrieves data from departmental computer system; maintains departmental files; types correspondence, reports, etc.; prepares reports and certificates of occupancy; performs related work as required.
High school diploma or equivalent; at least one (1) year of experience in office practices and procedures or equivalent training; some knowledge of building and zoning practices and procedures or building industry preferred. International Code Council (ICC) Permit Technician Certification not required but preferred.
